We had a chance to meet with 5 entrepreneurs. Victor set up Litespeed E-learning not only in Singapore but was able to market his product even to Malaysia and he hopes to sell it to HK as well. Once a PE teacher, he had resigned to set up this business, going without salary for 1 3/4 years without salary. What kept him going was his passion that he would see the light at the end of the tunnel. It was his rainbow and Cloud 9.

With SARS last year, when schools closed, he lost as much as $1/2 million. When one of his staff was caught with a criminal offence and jailed, it affected the reputation of his company. Long hours at work affected his social relationships as well as health, for the stress level is high. It was his family who gave him a sense of peace, which he compared to still waters.

Mrs Lee from the Singapore Tourist Promotion Board is a bubbly personality. She is a very talented lady who speaks with humour and candour. Her firm convictions in her vision of developing Singapore as a place for attracting tourists enable her to market her ideas and push through projects. For instance, she convinced authorities to turn CHIMES into a food paradise and develop Bugis into an indoor food mall. "Do what you do best and not follow others" is her policy. Her husband is a doctor and her sons are twins.

Christine, an Austrian, set up the Food from the Heart project of delivering unsold bread to the needy in Singapore. Although she has an 8 mth baby, she was still able to gather as many as 180 volunteer workers to collect as much as 23 000 kg (420 trolleys) of bread/mth. Quite amazing!

Dogfights

Bli me too many dogfights these days. One of theses days there'll be a massacre. Don't want to witness a murder of dogs in the house. Mojo's teeth may have to be sawn off by Dr James.
